Well we are still waiting for a real winter to turn up. It’s beginning to feel like it may never happen. There are 3 meters of snow on Cairngorm but nothing has materialised below 400 metres. Having said that we just completed our first winter tour and we managed to have a great time and got some nice opportunities. Highlights included Red Deer in falling snow, Crested Tit, Mountain Hare, Red Grouse, Golden Eagle (distant), Great Northern Diver and some stunning Long Tailed Ducks.

The ducks were a bit special due a monster tide and stunning winter light. Certainly the best we have ever seen them.
