I’ve just booked my fifth trip to Africa. Whilst I love Scotland as one the best places to photograph birds and wildlife I have to say Africa is my favourite place on earth.

The opportunities to photograph birds, wildlife and landscapes are truly off the chart. I guess one of the most fun things is having to think about how to take shots of large animals that are close. I found my first trip very eye opening.

The other thing that’s striking is how the minds focus shifts on geography. In the Uk photographing Hares (Mountain or Brown) is quite a big thing…. In Africa yous spend your time trying not to run them over.
